Blanquette de Limoux (or the little white) is claimed to be the world's first sparkling wine, created by the Monks at the Abbaye de Saint Hillaire near the market town of Limoux.
Our range of Blanquette de Limoux and Crémant de Limoux wines are created using La Méthode Traditionnelle, which was created at Saint Hilaire before later being employed in Champagne, and are made from fine Mauzac and Chardonnay grapes (and Pinot Noir for Crémant) picked from the chalky terrain surrounding Limoux.
